Ark obsidian spawn12/10/2023 It can be harvested from dead Corrupted Creatures in the Wasteland. It can always be used in place of Polymer, but is not as ideal because it has a spoil timer and can only stack up to 20, while regular Polymer can stack up to 100.Ĭorrupted Nodule is also a natural version of Polymer, found on Extinction. Organic Polymer, a natural version of Polymer that can be obtained from killing Kairuku, Hesperornis, Mantis, Karkinos, and harvesting bee hives. Additionally, if I am traveling by raft weight is not nearly as big of a factor.Polymer is an artificial material crafted at the Fabricator using 2x Obsidian and 2x Cementing Paste. Good suggestion with forging and crafting on site, but I don't always know what I will end up building with the metal. And, if you know what you are going to make(like metal building pieces), you can take cementing paste with you, put up a smithy, and make the products right where you mine which massively cuts down on trips. Can be more work, but if you are close to one of those rivers/sources, you can save time(less transport time) and/or suppliment you other efforts.Īre you playing PVE or PVP? Depending on which, you can build a permanent or temparary mining base close to the location(s) where you will mine, so that you can bring back finished ingots, instead of ore literally means half the trips. In the south, at the central spots, the metal nodes can be found at the top of the tall hills(mini peaks), or close to the top.Īlso, in some rivers, you will find smooth round rocks, they give a decent amount of metal(nothing like a single metal node), but with a good anky, you can certainly use them for a start. But, you also have a chance of finding a giga on those also. In the south, you will not find as high of a concertration like there is in the Volcano or the tops/sides of Whitesky, Frozen Fang, Frozen Tooth, or Fars Peak(which is probably the worst of the big mountain to farm). Have people had luck leaving their console turned on while their character stays inside a house or structure?ģ) What is the respawn distance? Is there such a thing as too close or too far? I am asking strictly for a player character with this question, not buildings / structures.Ĥ) How close can a building / structure be to a spawn node without shutting it down? Is this only true for certain building pieces like a foundation as I am reading elsewhere.ĥ) Does gobbling up all the resources at a specific node kill it forever? Should I be leaving one piece of the node to avoid "killing" it. Us noobs are looking in the south where we can survive.Ģ) What is the respawn time? I am asking in "real world" time. Also, no need to tell me about the awesome node at the top of the mountain in the north country since I can't get to it. Ideally an overhead map showing the locations since most people asking the question do not have a GPS. Nobody is snagging the metal when I am not looking.ġ) Where is the metal? The maps I have found online appear to be for the steam version and not completely accurate for the Xbox version. I am playing on Xbox on a non-dedicated server playing only with my friends. There is far too much mis-information out there. I am not interested in speculation or uneducated responses. I am hoping someone has the answers to these questions.
